Dan McCarthy
Freelance football and darts commentator

I am a freelance football commentator and reporter specialising in football and darts.
After leaving the University of Leeds with a 2:1 degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2016, I embarked on a career in the media and have had my fair share of ups and downs since!
My first break involved doing audio commentaries for bookmaker services and my portfolio has expanded over the years. Clients include the BBC, Sky Sports, ITV, IMG, Gravity Media, UEFA, talkSPORT, and, more recently, the PDC and Viaplay covering darts.
I have covered a wide range of leagues and cup competitions and I am just as comfortable doing radio as I am TV work. I am well-versed in voicing highlights as well as doing live sport and I'm also experienced in off-tube environments as well as being on-site.
In terms of football, my career highlights would be making my Final Score debut in 2017 at Oakwell as Hull defeated Barnsley 1-0 while in darts, the chance to cover the UK Open (my favourite tournament on the calendar) and WDF World Championship at Lakeside meant a lot to me.
